GC Virtual Program: 2021-2022

Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation recognizes that we must continue to offer innovative educational opportunities so that we can reach each student and support his or her social, emotional, and academic growth. In order to serve our students who have found success in the virtual environment, Greenfield-Central will offer a Virtual Programming option for all students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 (GCVirtual).

GCVirtual is meant to meet the needs of students and families who have shown that they can remain engaged in their academic journey in a fully-virtual environment. Students who have not been successful in the virtual environment will not be considered for admittance and will be invited to attend classes onsite throughout the school year.

In order to maintain clear expectations and communicate commitments between students, families, and Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation educators, the included guide offers explanations and guidance for families. Questions regarding GCVirtual should be directed to administrators (page 3) and/or counselors (page 8). A link to the GCVirtual application can be found on the first and last pages of the handbook.

Profile of a Graduate - Citizenship

Congratulations to these students who were recognized by their classroom teacher for displaying that important trait of citizenship, which is a great quality that a future GC graduate has.

Spring Book Fair

Today students will bring home flyers for our spring book fair. Next week students will browse the cases and may take pictures with their iPads if there are items they are interested in purchasing. Beginning Monday, April 26 - Friday, April 30th - students may shop during their library class or other specified times. Many thanks to everyone who supported our fall book fair and helped make it such a success.

3rd Grade ILEARN Test

As required in the state of Indiana, students will take the ILEARN test to determine their proficiency on reading and math on Indiana Academic Standards. This year's test window beings on April 19th. Please avoid scheduling appointments in the mornings from April 20-April 29, as your child may be testing on one of those dates. Currently, we plan to test on the following dates:

• Wednesday, April 7
• Tuesday, April 20
• Wednesday, April 21
• Thursday, April 22
• Friday, April 23
• Tuesday, April 27
• Wednesday, April 28
• Thursday, April 29

Body Safety

Indiana Senate Bill 355, which was passed in the spring 2017 state legislative session, requires all public schools in the state of Indiana to provide all students grades K-12 with child abuse and child sexual abuse prevention education. COVID19

Thank you for continuing to be diligent in your efforts to keep your family and other Harris students healthy and safe. Please self screen at home and be sure that you don't send a sick child to school this year. In addition, if any member of your household has a pending COVID-19 test, you should not send your child to school until the results of that test return negative. Thanks for helping us slow the spread at this difficult time of year.
