My Favorite Saint: St. Joan of Arc By Daniel Myles

Joan of Arc was born on January 6th 1412 and died on May 30th 1431 at the age of 19.

She Is the patron saint of soilders (of all nationality) and France.

  • Her feast day is the same day she died May 30th
  • She was canonized by Pope Benedict XV
  • When she was she was 13 she had visions of saints(Saint Michael, Saint Catherine, and Saint Margaret)
  • She was a martyr (she was burned to death)
  • Her nickname was "The Maid of OrlĂ©ans"
  • One of her famous quotes is "Children say that people are hung sometimes for speaking the truth."(this is ironic because she was in a similar situation).
