all summer long

It was 1989, my thoughts were short my hair was long

Caught somewhere between a boy and man

She was seventeen and she was far from in-between

It was summertime in Northern Michigan

Ahh Ahh Ahh

Ahh Ahh Ahh

Splashing through the sand bar

Talking by the campfire

It's the simple things in life, like when and where

We didn't have no internet

But man I never will forget

The way the moonlight shined upon her hair

And we were trying different things

We were smoking funny things

Making love out by the lake to our favorite song

Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow

Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long

Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long

Catching Walleye from the dock

Watching the waves roll off the rocks

She'll forever hold a spot inside my soul

we'd blister in the sun

we couldnt't wait for night to come

to hit that sand and play some tock and roll

this represents the summer in that song

the devil went down to Georgia

The devil went down to georgia

he was lookin for a soul to steal

he was in a bind

cause he was way behind

and he was willing to make a deal

when he came upon this young man

sawin on a fiddle and plauin it hot

and the devil jumped

ip on a hickory stump

and said, " boulet me tell you what

i guess you didnt know it

but im a fiddle player too

and iff you'd care to take a dare, i'll make a bet

with you

Now you play a pretty good fiddle, boy

But give the devil his due

I'll bet a fiddle of gold

Against your soul

'Cause I think I'm better than you."

The boy said, "my name's Johnny

And it might be a sin

But I'll take your bet

And you're gonna regret

'Cause I'm the best there's ever been."

Johnny, rosin up your bow and play your fiddle hard

'Cause hell's broke loose in Georgia and the devil deals it hard

cause hells broke loose in georgia and the devil deals the cards

and if you win you get this shiny fiddle made of

gole

but if you lose, the devil gets your soul

the devil opened up his case and said, " ill start this show."

and fire flew from his fingertips

as he rosined up his bow

Then he pulled the bow across the strings

and it made and evil hiss

and a band of demons joined in

and it sounded something like this

when the devil finished

johnny said, " well, youre pretty good, old son

but sit down in that chair right there

and let me show you how it's done."

he played fire on the mountain run boys run

devil's in the house of the rising sun

chicken in a bread pan pickin out dough

granny does your dog bite? no child, no

the devil bowed his head

because he knew that he'd been beat

and he laid that golden fiddle

on the ground at johnny's feet

johnny said, " devil, just come on back

if you ever want to try again

i done told you son of a bitch

i'm the best that's ever been."

he played fire on the mountain run boys, run boys run

the devil's in the house of the rising son

chicken in a bread pan pickin' out dough

Granny, does your dog bite? no child, no

devil vs johnny

I walk down a road

full of green and gold

even though i try my best

I will not do well on some tests

I try to keep up with all the trends

but all I need is me and my friends

some people are cought up in there technology

but the thing i'm cought up in is biology

I love doing sports

but only the ones that you do in shorts

we all walk different roads but there all green and gold

road of green and gold
