DAHS Forensics takes 5th overall

On Saturday, January 27, the DeForest Area High School forensics team competed against 17 other schools from around Wisconsin. Out of 17 schools, DeForest finished 5th overall, along with four entries making it to the final round, one of which won the tournament.


Kindergartners learn about eye care

Students in Jessica Lazzari’s kindergarten class were recently visited by their “adopted” business partner, Dr. Stephanie McCaig from Essential Family Vision. According to Lazzari, “On this visit Dr. Stephanie brought in a picture frame project to remind us of summer weather during these cold winter months! We also talked about ways to protect your eyes from the sun in all seasons.”


Lerum wins school Geography Bee at DAMS

8th grader Trevor Lerum recently won the 2018 school Geography Bee held at DeForest Area Middle School. Lerum will move on to take an online test by the end of the week for a chance to qualify for the state Bee held in Madison this spring. Qualifiers for the state Bee will be notified by March 2 if they will move on to compete with fellow school Bee champions.


Kelsey Wendt and Ethan Bauer place at Special Olympics Regional Basketball Skills Competition

Congratulations to Kelsey Wendt, who earned a first place award, and Ethan Bauer, took home a second place ribbon, at the Special Olympics Regional Basketball Skills Competition in Lake Geneva on Saturday, February 3. Both athletes will represent DASD at the State Indoor Games on March 24th.
