Whale Watching Guided Tour

Whale Watching

Whales are beautiful animals and one of nature’s most extraordinary sights. Experienced guides on board will share with you their wealth of knowledge on the whales, as well as passing on some interesting facts and old sea stories about encounters with these magnificent creatures. The whales round these parts are not shy, often surfacing quite close to the boat, and, as our sea-fairing guides will tell you, to see a whale up close truly is a sight to remember. There is over 90% viewing success (if you are in the unlucky few percent, you get another tour for free). This tour departs from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik.

Into the Glacier: Langjokull Ice Tunnel, Guided Tour

Langjokull Ice tunnel

After nearly five years of study, planning, modelling and careful preparation by top engineers, and advice from world renowned geo physicist with expert level knowledge of glaciers, you can now explore the Langjokull ice tunnel, located high on Europe’s second largest glacier! The Langjokull Ice tunnel is the world’s first and biggest man made Ice Cap Glacier tunnel. This adventurous, once in a lifetime journey to the heart of an Ice Cap Glacier, starts with a bus ride to the area of Borgarfjordur. On the way to the edge of the glacier you'll stop and witness natural phenomena such as Deildartunguhver, the largest hot spring area in Europe, and Hraunfossar Waterfalls, a series of waterfalls formed by rivulets streaming over a distance of about 900 meters out of a lava field. When you reach Langjokull glacier, it's time to board a monster 8 wheel glacier truck to reach the entrance of the ice cave. During the excursion within the glacier itself you'll see colors of blue you never knew existed, and learn how glaciers hide the secrets of history. After an approximately 50 minute visit within the glacier, it's time to head back to Reykjavik but this time through the Kaldidalur highland track, including a visit at Thingvellir National Park where you'll encounter an amazing scenery.
