Most of my top 10 were hard to discard because they each were meaningful to me

Purpose and adventure were the hardest to discard in each turn because I feel like they are something I define myself by and having to choose something over that was hard.

My Goals

Short Term Goals:

  • Pass my classes: I’m going to be studying more in the last few weeks of this semester and in the next semesters and admitting I need help.
  • Get a job for summer: Hopefully get into contact with the people who I applied for
  • Get into all the classes I need to register for: Just trusting in God for this one
  • Bring my GPA back up: By passing my classes

Long Term Goals:

  • Have a family: Trusting that I find the right guy to marry and raise a family with
  • Enjoy my Career – whatever it ends up being: Strive to do well in school, so that I can have several options for when I want to get a job
  • Travel: Continuously set aside money so that I can travel

My Ideals and My Goals Together

Concerning my short term goals, I am putting a lot of trust in God to lead my down the right path. And it’s not just blind faith waiting for a sign either, it is still very proactive and I have to go out and act on the things that he has told me to do. To pass my classes, I have to put a certain amount of work into them – but still there is only so much I can do, so the rest I have to trust Him for. When applying for jobs, I still have to go out and meet with the people that I applied to and in doing so, I trust God that he will help set me up with the right people to talk to in order to get a job. In order to get into all the classes that I need, the only thing I can really do at this point is to just trust that he has the best plan for me – and that if I didn’t get into certain classes, that it was part of the plan. To bring my GPA back, harks back to the way of passing my classes, and how I will listen to God while still proactively doing my work.

In the long term, I feel like God’s will has an even greater impact because only He knows my long term plan ahead of schedule. Each are something that I would love to do or experience and I feel like he wouldn’t have put them on my heart if he didn’t mean to fulfill them. That also doesn’t mean that it will happen when I expect it – it could happen earlier or later than I originally anticipated. To have a family, means first getting married, and to find the right person I have to trust that God will tell me who they are when the time is right. My dream to travel I feel is a part of the person He made me to be, so I trust that when the time comes, he will “show me the world.” And in getting a career that I enjoy and do well in, the only thing I can do is try and do my best in school and turn when He says to turn.
