Your desktop and apps, anywhere, any device, anytime Powered by CITRIX

What do we mean by your Desktop, anywhere, on any device, any time?

Using Citrix technology we are able to broadcast a desktop experience to any device you choose to use, anywhere you can receive an internet connection and at anytime, you are no longer tied to the PC on your desk.

When we say any device we mean any device!

The desktop experience will be available on your laptop be that PC or Mac, your tablet, be that Android, Windows or iOS, you will even be able to access your desktop apps on your phone again be that Android, Windows or iOS.

Work where it suits you best

Need to travel or work from home, no worries, take your laptop or tablet with you and it will feel like you are working on your University desktop. You will even have seamless access to your Filestore and Sharedrives, there is now no need for a VPN, or login to website to access your files. You could even use your phone but that may be a little tricky due to the size of the screen. If you don't need to access your full desktop you can also work on single applications, such as our Finance system or Microsoft Excel. As long as you are connected to a wifi, 3g, 4g or broadband connection at home, you can experience the seamless desktop and apps, thanks to the power of Citrix.

What to expect

You can use the Citrix client in 2 ways, firstly you can access your University Desktop experience, or you can access a series of applications, including most business systems. The client ensures a secure connection, limiting information that could be lost or stolen when using devices away from the University. Changes you make whilst using any device away from Campus will be dynamically updated to our servers so when you do log into your desk PC again you will be working on the latest version of the information. This will also ensure any work saved back to the share drive will be available for your colleagues to work on even when you are away.
