Althea and Oliver is a book about this girl named Althea and a guy named Oliver. They've been best-friends since they were 6 years old. Oliver is always sleeping (mostly in class at school), and Althea can't stop falling in love. Now when they reached their junior year (11th Grade) and Althea wanted their friendship with her and Oliver to change, because She might want her and Oliver to become more than just friends. Oliver just wants things to go back to normal. One day when he woke up in the morning, he had no memory of what happened for the past 3 weeks, and doesn't know if something is extremely wrong with him. Then Althea felt like she made the worse decision ever, and her relationship with Oliver might be shattered. Oliver leaves town for a clinical study in New York, resolving to repair whatever is broken/missing in his brain, while Althea gets into her car and drives up the coast after him,and is determined to make up for what she’s done. Now they might have a crazy adventure that will take them to many places before they once more stand together and face their chances.
So Cristina Moracho’s intention was to make/write a book about 2 teens and talking about their relationships and the cause, effects, and outcomes of it and also to the story that was very realistic about identity, illness, and love—and why bad decisions sometimes feel so good.
But overall it was a pretty good and interesting story.
