Helping Scottish Schools TO transform learning AND teaching WITH DIGITAL TOOLS

WHY NOT FOCUS ON THE DIGITAL TOOLS NOW AVAILABLE IN GLOW?

ALL SCHOOLS ACROSS SCOTLAND HAVE ACCESS TO AN IMPRESSIVE SUITE OF DIGITAL SOLUTIONS VIA THEIR GLOW SCOTLAND ACCOUNTS

Our aim is always to make it easy for schools to develop a digital culture that works for them. We concentrate on developing an integrated digital workflow across the whole school. This helps everyone to support each other by consistent use of apps and tools.

a few key apps for the tech you have in school

and some core aims to help to develop your approach

A core aim might be that we want learners to have access to attractive and engaging digital learning resources (like this one?) from anywhere at anytime
We now have the tools and tech to enable that aim and to make it easy for teachers and learners to create stunning learning content that can be accessed from anywhere.
A core aim might be that we want leaners to collaborate online using shared documents and shared discussion spaces that allow them to work together to solve problems
Office Online in Glow gives us social and collaborative learning that everyone can join in on
or that homework assignments and tasks are issued online and their calendars kept up-to-date so that pupils know their deadlines and teachers can keep track of submissions
Microsoft Classroom in Glow makes tracking assignments and assessments easy
What if we wanted learners to show what they know by making movies, digital pages (like this one!) and eBooks instead of writing essays or making Powerpoints?
Adobe Spark Pages and Video and Sway in Glow O365 mean stunning digital presentations are easy for everyone. Apps like iMovie make video editing a breeze. Bring movies, text, audio and images together in Book Creator eBooks
Parental engagement is important to the closing the poverty attainment gap agenda
What if we shared all this digital content to engage with parents/carers via blog posts on our school website, a public Facebook page (with moderation!) or class blogs in Glow that fed into the website? Or all of them???

OUR PROJECTS

We developed these projects to offer a unique and innovative solution to help schools tackle the poverty attainment gap.

They focus on enabling learners to develop skills for life and work: problem-solving, project management, design, marketing, creativity and digital development

our community learning projects are enquiry-focused for real world relevant learning that matters

We will model: design thinking; effective use of digital tools for collaboration and creativity; Agile project management techniques.

Community Focus for Relevant Learning

Our core aim for these projects is to offer inspiring and engaging learning experiences that are real and relevant. Solving community issues is key to many of them.
