Women's Council Newsletter Fall 2019

Have you noticed the subtle change in season? No longer Back-to-School Season, it’s Gratitude Season around here. In celebration, the recent Women’s Health Luncheon focused on the theme: Gather ~ Staying in Balance Mind, Body & Spirit. The Women’s Council Luncheon Committee, CRHS Foundation staff, and our hosts at Renewal Ranch produced a fabulous gathering, indeed. Our featured speakers, Donna Seals, and Matt Troup inspired all to Give Thanks, with Grace. Together, in balance, Gratitude and Grace move the hearts, minds and spirits of this community.

It takes grace to sacrifice personal time in exchange for volunteer support of the innumerable charitable and fundraising events scheduled this season. Grace inspires leaders to dedicate Dazzle Daze proceeds to the Conway Regional Women’s Center for state of the art mammography equipment.

It takes a grateful heart to donate personal gain to the Conway Regional Perinatal Bereavement program. (See below for details of the A Very Merry Holiday Preview at the Kitchen Store & more.) And, it is with a grateful heart that I serve with the Women’s Council Steering Committee to advocate for the Conway Regional Health Foundation and to ensure Conway Regional is recognized as the regional leader in healthcare excellence.

Grace is only as powerful as the Gratitude with which it stands. By the looks of our Community Calendar we have an attitude. It’s a Gratitude Attitude.

Season's Greetings!

This holistic message was given by speakers Donna Seal, local LSCW and Matt Troup, CEO of Conway Regional. Attendees received a gift bag compliments of the Conway Regional Women’s Council, as well as goodies and information from vendors at the health resource expo and Kendra Scott Give Back Event.

Teacher Grants

The teacher grant program is off to a great start! We have had 6 approved applications since the start of the 2019 school year. It’ refreshing to see 2 new schools, Academics Plus and Russellville High School, joining in!

Andrea Bailey-Fournier with Theodore Jones was awarded a grant for her new program, Exercise Vending Machine. She came up with a great concept of adding exercise equipment in the vending machine that can be purchased by students. The students earn tokens, based on initiatives, behavior, etc. and can use those tokens to purchase equipment that they can take home and use to live healthy lifestyles!

We are excited and anxious to see what new and innovative ideas come next!
