GEOMAGNETIC storms
Geomagnetic storms are temporary disturbance of the Earth's magnetosphere caused by a high speed solar wind and/or clouds of hot magnetic plasma that come from CMEs that interact with the Earth's magnetic field.
The Effect
Geomagnetic storms affect Earth in some ways. They can slow down the orbit of satellites which messes with GPS. Also they interrupt some radio signals.
