Progressive Leadership
BodyBuilders Ministries is a husband and wife team that seeks to use relevant, and often non-traditional, outreach and in-reach approaches to build up the body of Christ (the church). As ambassadors, we have seen God’s leading as we seek to use our spiritual gifts to enlarge His kingdom where He sends us. Through the creation and implementation of felt-need ministries, we focus on developing natural and meaningful associations which encourage growing relationships with God and His word. We are committed to providing direction and leadership which focuses on progressive, creative and innovative approaches.
Fellowship
The first factor in building the body of Christ is connecting the dry bones (see Ezekiel 37). Connecting the church family is essential for creating the nurturing environment needed for soul winning. One of the signs that a church is in crisis is a lack of meaningful interaction among members. We open our home, our refrigerator, our oven, and our hearts to establish a community and habit of fellowship that breaks down the barriers and distance that leave people isolated and churches unable to fulfill their mission.
Financial Stability
If your money is funny, it's hard to focus on any mission other than ducking bill collectors and surviving. The Christian Financial Clinic helps people become effective stewards of God's resources and allows many to thrive, financially for the first time. As a result, giving to the Lord's work increases and people see the power of God working for them. As credit scores rise and debts decrease, praise and glory to the Lord soar to new heights.
Prophecy Education
Prophecy is an important tool for building confidence in God's plan of salvation. Amos 3:7, says that the Lord does nothing without sharing that plan with His servants the prophets. God has given modern-day servants the keys to unlock those prophetic messages. BodyBuilders Ministries shares clear explanations of Bible prophecy in our Spirit University workshops. Students learn how God has been carefully guiding His children through the ages. We look at the amazing relevance of the books of Daniel and Revelation for our times and show attendees what God's will is for their lives.
Praise
Bringing out the exciting, hidden stories from the church family helps build bridges of common experience and bonds of newfound trust in the body. Often, members sit next to each other for years and never know the trials, struggles and victories that have shaped the character and trends of fellow members' lives. We create opportunities to share amazing testimonies that start conversations which lead to new relationships. This photo shows the sharing of the incredible testimony of a couple who married, divorced, and 33 years later, remarried by the grace of God.
Wellness
We create events and activities that achieve multiple objectives. The Riverwalk, launched in 2009, invited the community to participate in a fun-walk that brought people of all ages and backgrounds together in a non-religious space to provide a connection between the gospel and healthful living.
God gave everything to save us. Romans 12:1 calls us to make our bodies a living sacrifice to God, holy and acceptable, which is our reasonable service. That's why we present NEWSTART (the 8 laws of health) wherever we go. The acronym stands for Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Sunshine, Temperance, Air, Rest, and Trust in divine power.
Social Justice
Through our RENEW projects, we take proactive steps to close the gaps in our society. Our Math Bootcamp is one example. Children get a chance, during the summer, to fix their math skill problems and get ahead for the fall.

Don & Lynette
We have served together in a wide variety of ministries since we were students at Takoma Academy and Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, Maryland. Together, we have ministered in Alabama, Indiana, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina; in churches, homes, streets, garages, prisons, nursing homes, schools, kitchens and any other place we're sent. However, these are not our day jobs. Don is a retired educator who is now a communication and professional development consultant. Lynette is a business school dean. We have two adult children--a son (Woody) and daughter (Summer)--and one grandson (Jaden).
