Back to School

BACK TO SCHOOL | Over the past few weeks, it has been fantastic to welcome back our boarding and day pupils back to the school campus. The wet weather hasn't dampened the pupils' spirits, and we have been so impressed with the way that the pupils have taken the new routines and procedures in their stride. We hope that you enjoy this snapshot of the first few days of the Autumn Term.

Boarding News

Landing Programme

LANDING PROGRAMME | This year, we were delighted to welcome many of our international boarders back to school two weeks early to enable them to fulfil quarantine requirements, and/or to settle back into life in the boarding houses before lessons commenced and school fully reopened. The two-week Landing Programme is now complete, and the boarders have had a blast! The boarders enjoyed an exciting programme of onsite and offsite activities (including sailing, various different golf practice sessions, art workshops, outside film nights, beach games), and also the opportunity to relax with friends, both old and new, and enjoy the final weeks of the summer holidays. Many thanks to Mrs Pennycook and the Resident House Assistants for organising the programme.

Acrostics and Artwork

ACROSTICS AND ARTWORK | Year 6 have had a busy few days back at school. As well as having the chance to catch up with their friends and adjust to the new routines, they have been reflecting on the last few months by writing acrostic poems entitled 'In Lockdown'. They have also been producing some fabulous artwork based upon the theme of 'home'. Mrs Fynn and Miss Cormack are delighted to have the children back in school, and have really enjoyed hearing what the children have been up to over the past few months.

News from Years 7-13

Blown Away

BLOWN AWAY | The wet weather didn't stop our Year 12 students from having a fantastic Induction Day on the West Sands earlier this week. The students enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones, whilst trying their hand at a number of different water sports with the help of experienced instructors from Blown Away. It was certainly a memorable way to start their two-year Sixth Form experience at St Leonards!

This is just a snapshot of our first few days back at school. We look forward to sharing more highlights from Years 7-13 in our future newsletters. Watch this space!
