FFA Alumni donates van to high school program

DeForest FFA Alumni members Karen Stiemke, Sue Langer and Anne Lainberger came to the August 14 school board meeting to present their donation of a van to the school district. The FFA Alumni raised the funds through their annual Family Fun Night.

Jan Williams honored at school board meeting

At their August 14th meeting, the DASD Board of Education recognized Jan William’s award as the American Legion Post 348 Educator of the Year. Bill Ridgely presented Jan with a certificate and a check for $100.

Adaptive School training

Several staff from throughout the district participated in two days of foundational training on August 15 and 16. The goal of Adaptive Schools Seminars are to develop the collective identity and capacity of organization members as collaborators and inquirers and leaders. DASD was joined by staff from Verona, Sun Prairie, Oshkosh, and Dodgeville. They will participate in another two days of training in October.

Staff participate in elementary math training

Training was held on August 22 for K-6 staff to learn the new Ready Math curriculum, including iReady instruction and diagnostic components.

AKA Automotive enjoys game from Settlers bank Spirit Box

For each home football game, a group is chosen to watch the game from the Settlers bank Spirit Box. The Gridiron Club chose Jason Arnold, owner of AKA Automotive, for the August 18 game for his sponsorship of several Gridiron fundraising projects. Thank you to Settlers bank for supporting the stadium and offering the opportunity as a fundraiser to school and community groups. The Spirit Box is available for all athletic groups throughout the year that compete on Stalder Field. If interested in more information, contact Debbie Brewster.
