Summer Assignment Letters
As Kindergarten Families, you will receive a few mailings over the summer. First - our AM/PM assignment letters will be appearing in your mailboxes late next week, provided you have completed all registration requirements. If you have not received a phone call from Dr. Hoffert regarding Full Day Kindergarten, then your child has been placed in either an AM or PM session - this letter will tell you which one!
Actual teacher assignment letters will be sent along with homeroom assignments for the rest of our BH students in early August - this gives us a little more time to make shifts or finalize staffing if necessary.
Kindergarten Jump Start 2019
Online Registration for BH Kindergarten Jump Start, presented by the Downingtown Community Education Foundation, is open now. Sessions will be held from 9am - 11:30am in the BH Kindergarten Classrooms during the week of 8/12 - 8/16. The program will be staffed by BH Kindergarten Teachers, and will provide students with an introduction to Kindergarten routines, activities, and experiences. Look for a flyer in your AM/PM Assignment Letter next week for more information. You can also click on the link below for the Registration Page.
Have you scheduled a parent/teacher home visit?
This summer, the BH teacher would like to extend an invitation to all incoming Kindergarten parents to have a teacher visit your home, introduce you and your family to our school and some general kindergarten expectations, and to find out a little bit about your dreams for your child's education. Our goal is to build a lasting connection between home and school, which we feel is the best way to begin a successful educational career. For more information, or to sign up for a visit, download the form available at the link below. This is completely voluntary, but we hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity to get to know us better!
Each year, parents ask us for a list of suggested supplies, and our typical response is that we will provide students with any supplies that they must have for school in the Fall. There are some items, however that we would suggest for students to bring either for themselves, or to contribute to the classroom:
- Headphones - Over the Ear style (used with iPads during instruction)
- Backpack - (Without wheels) - students will transport folders and school work to and from home
- Glue Sticks (we can never have enough of these)
- Pack of baby wipes
- Pump hand soap
In addition - the following items are on the teachers' Wish Lists: Plastic Bags (quart and gallon sized); cotton balls; assorted colors of tissue paper; thin expo markers; brown lunch bags and Play Dough
