final reminder to change your child's mode of learning
Tomorrow, October 2nd is the last day to change your child's mode of learning. If you are not making a change, you DO NOT fill out this form. This is the final notice. Please be reminded that you will not have an opportunity to change from the virtual to traditional mode once the second quarter begins. Your next opportunity will be at the beginning of the third quarter. Again, if you are not changing learning modes, there is no action for you to take.
Please remember to Mask up!
Parents, please remember to send at least two masks with your learner each day. There are many times the kids drop their mask, or sneeze in their mask and they need a new/ fresh one. Thank you for your help with this.

pta selling spirit ribbons
Our PTA will be selling spirit ribbons tomorrow (Friday) morning for $1.00 at PRES. This is a fun way to support our school and show our Patriot Pride! Simply send $1.00 with your learner and we will make sure they know where to go to get their ribbon!
Join the PTA!
We need you to join our PTA! By joining the PTA, you are supporting the entire school community who work together to make PRES an exceptional place for our students! This year we are aiming for 100% membership!! Memberships are counted per student (not family), so if you have multiple children at the elementary school, encourage another adult family member or friend to join!
This year we have added some fun incentives to help us reach our goal! The winning class will from each grade will receive a Kona Ice party on Friday, Oct. 16! Thank you for supporting our school!
Our first general membership meeting will be virtual, October 15 at 7:00. Please look for information how to attend the meeting coming soon!
LOVELY FALL WEATHER
As the temperatures get cooler, our lost and found gets heavy with winter-wear. Please label all jackets, and sweaters with your child's name so they will be returned to them.
Meet our school counselor
My name is Shelia Daniel and I am the Pike Road Elementary School Counselor. This is my 5th year at Pike Road Schools. My first year, I was a Community 2 Lead Learner and this is my 4th year as the elementary school counselor. This is my 27th year of education. Before coming to Pike Road, I worked in the Auburn City Schools System as a teacher having taught 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades for 7 years before becoming a counselor there for 10 years. Prior to that, I worked in Russell County for 4 years and taught 1st and 4th grades.
I have 4 children, one of which (Mark) took the short road to heaven in a fatal car accident in August of last year (2019) right before school started. My other three children are Matthew (26) who is married with 2 little boys (Fisher-2 years old and Hunter-11 months), Lauren (24) with a baby girl (Charlie) and John (14) a learner at PRJHS. My husband, Wade and I have been married for 30 years and we live in Auburn. We have 2 dogs (Cocker Spaniels) Hunter and Willow.
I look forward to helping your learner with their Academic, Emotional and Social needs. I am here for you, too! I provide guidance lessons once per week at a time that your lead learner has provided to me. I will come to your learner’s classroom for 30 minutes to share a lesson covering the competencies from the Comprehensive Counseling and Guidance Model for Alabama Public Schools (State Plan). I can come to your learner’s class to provide a lesson that the lead learner sees a need for, which is separate from the guidance lesson. I provide individual and small group lessons based on learner’s needs requested by the Lead Learner, parent(s)/guardian and/or learner. I am a member of the Response to Intervention Team (RTI). I provide additional information in parent conferences, when needed. And, I create the schedules. Let me know if you need anything!!!
