The Most Useful Skill

Negotiation is a very useful communication skill. I when you negotiate you go over all the options and often get to see, experience, or learn about the other ways of doing things. Negotiation is also a good way to avoid arguments.

"In any disagreement, individuals understandably aim to achieve the best possible outcome for their position. However, the principles of fairness, seeking mutual benefit and maintaining a relationship are the keys to a successful outcome." Pg. 7

Why is it useful?

Negotiation is the most useful communication skill. It allows you to understand others point of view and come to a compromise that makes everyone happy. Although some disagreements are unavoidable, negotiation is often a good way to peacefully resolve them.

"It is inevitable that, from time-to-time, conflict and disagreement will arise as the differing needs, wants, aims and beliefs of people are brought together. Without negotiation, such conflicts may lead to argument and resentment resulting in one or all of the parties feeling dissatisfied. The point of negotiation is to try to reach agreements without causing future barriers to communications." Pg. 7

Useful in my Life

I think negotiation is a useful tool that I would like to use more topeten to solve conflicts or disagreements in my life. The times when I have used negotiation to resolve the conflicts I have faced before, it has, more often than not, worked very well for me. It has allowed me to peacefully work around disagreements.
