Second Grade STEM Field Trip

The second grade classes took a STEM field trip to Crane where they used a program with legos to create birds that moved and chirped. They got to hear a story about a boat sinking. Then, they had to create a boat that wouldn't sink. They were given materials such as aluminum foil, plastic wrap, craft sticks, tape, and other items. They tested their boats in a tub of water to see if they would float with weight added.

Kindergarten Field Trip to Apple Hill Orchard

On September 14th, our kindergarten classes went to Apple Hill Orchard in Bruceville. They learned about the different kinds of apple trees and how they are washed. They were also shown how to tell new growth on the trees. They discussed what items can be made out of apples and got to sample different kinds of apples and apple cider! They enjoyed lunch and some play time at the Washington Park.
