Do you draw inspiration from a person or concept in terms of your style?

Yeah, so my grandma is probably the largest supporter of my style because she’s retired, but she works as a volunteer at the Asian Art Museum, and she’s been working there for a very long time. So she has a lot of unique pieces of clothing that she wears that are definitely kind of inspired by the work that she does at the Asian Art Museum. I, while not necessarily wearing similar stuff to her, think she really has like a great fashion knowledge and she’s always wearing really really cool stuff. I think she’s one of the people who got me into it, and who definitely made it easy to stay into the style or fashion streetwear stuff.

Do you see yourself doing something fashion related in the future?

Probably not. It’s not something that I’m completely against, but it’s a really risky industry and I haven’t really shown any kind of talent for it yet, so I think I’m probably just going to stick to what other people design instead of going into designing stuff myself.

Do you have a favorite fashion trend?

Well, people can hate on me, but I definitely did not hate the dad shoe trend, especially when it was worn correctly, which I guess not everybody did. I think in just terms of an actual fashion trend I like, I like wearing fanny packs over the shoulder. I think that’s a good look.

Is there anything you wish was a trend?

That’s a tough one. I really like accessorizing and pins. Not to say that accessorizing is not popular, but just kind of adding things that aren’t really conventional. One time I saw a guy, and I’m not sure if this was intentional but I really liked it, and he had a toothpick in his beanie that was in the fold of his beanie, and I thought that was really cool. Just adding stuff that makes what you’re wearing your own, because it just adds to the uniqueness. I guess it’s just like little accessories that are unconventional.

What are your favorite brands?

I think that just in terms of like the way it looks and impact that it’s had, I’d say Gucci. I’ve never worn any Gucci, but I like the way it looks especially the Gucci monogram pattern. I think it looks really good on socks, I think it looks really good on sweaters, and it’s just kind of iconic. Then in terms of brands that I actually wear, probably Polo. There’s something about the embroidery of the horse that really does it for me, and I don’t know what it is. I feel like it can turn any kind of shirt into something that’s more interesting. You can just take a dress shirt and add the polo logo and, at the risk of sounding like someone who cares too much about brands, I think it looks much better. Polo also makes a lot of really nice jackets and windbreakers with corduroy collars, especially plaid on the inside. I think they make a lot of good jackets. One of my favorite pairs of pants that are corduroy are also Polo, and I like the silhouette that they give.

If you can only wear one accessory, what would it be?

I often buy pants that are too big for me because I go thrift shopping a lot, so the accessory that I’d deem most useful for me would definitely be a belt, but if you don’t count that, then I’d say probably my rings. I really like rings, because it’s something that not many people wear all the time, or at least guys wear. I think it adds that uniqueness that accessorizing outfits does.

Do you draw inspiration from a person or concept regarding your style?

Whenever it comes to clothes I like to look at music artists like rappers. It all depends on how I'm feeling that day.

Do you see yourself doing something with fashion later?

My hope for a career is to open up a shop where I make my own clothes with three of my closest friends.

Do you have a favorite fashion trend?

Denim with anything, I just feel like it works. As long as it’s not consecutive pieces like denim denim denim. Denim jacket with a hoodie and then some denim jeans is cool.

Is there anything you wish was a trend?

Pearls. I think pearls are really hard, just like as a piece to throw onto any fit.

Who are you wearing right now?

I’m wearing Suicoke slippers, Adidas sweatpants, Levi’s jacket that I drew on and distressed, a Gnarcotic hoodie and a revenge t-shirt.

What are your favorite brands?

Gnarcotic is definitely top five, I like them. Louis Vuitton. Revenge is pretty cool.

If you could only wear one accessory what would it be?

Definitely my watch.

Do you draw inspiration from a person or concept in terms of your style?

I draw inspiration from people like Billie Eilish, and random Youtubers like The Lineup. Either I just go from that, or I just go on Instagram and get inspiration from that.

Do you see yourself doing something fashion related in the future?

To be honest, not really. I just feel like fashion is something you can just do every day. You don’t have to necessarily pursue it, at least for me, but I just enjoy doing it as a hobby.

Do you have a favorite fashion trend?

Bucket hats, but I don’t have that many, so I should invest in some because those are pretty sick.

Is there anything you wish was a trend?

I’m not that original right now, I can’t think of anything. The first thing that came to my mind was braces for some reason just because I want to see what I look like in braces and then like I can have an excuse to wear them to see what I look like.

Favorite brands?

Urban Outfitters. I think that’s it, that’s like the first thing that comes to my mind.

If you can only wear one accessory, what would it be?

Does makeup count? Yeah, I guess, or bucket hats or jewelry or something. Just like something around the face because it enhances the outfit a lot more.

Do you draw inspiration from a person or concept in terms of your style?

I draw inspiration mostly from a concept of efficiency and simplicity because I don’t like picking outfits in the morning, that’s just a hassle for me. So, I keep it as simple as I can.

Do you see yourself doing something fashion related in the future?

I’m not too interested in art and designing, so probably not. I’m more of a business person I guess.

Do you have a favorite fashion trend?

It used to be like streetwear and stuff, but now it’s transformed into a more modern and classic style.

Is there anything you wish was a trend?

I guess checker shirts and oxford shirts.

Favorite brands?

More of the Japanese streetwear like Humanmade and Neighborhood, also Wtaps.

If you can only wear one accessory, what would it be?

Definitely a bracelet.
