Joshua Harris GHHS Baseball

Baseball season is back and rolling! One of the juniors on the varsity team, Joshua Harris, talks about his experience with baseball.

How did you get into baseball?

When I was growing up, I’d practice all the sports that were available to me. When I was 8, I really started enjoying baseball and went from there.

What positions do you play?

Catcher and third base.

How do you feel towards your teammates who have gotten into big name schools?

I think it’s awesome that they’ve gotten into those schools because they’ve worked so hard.

Is there a significance to your jersey number, 13?

Everybody says it’s an unlucky number, but I’ve had it for 7 years and it seems to be pretty lucky!

Do you have any pregame rituals?

I listen to Travis Scott, wear the same under jersey, wrap my wrists, and I draw a cross in the dirt before I get on the field.

What is your ultimate baseball goal?

First, play in college and then hopefully play in the major leagues!

Where is your favorite post-game team get together spot and why?

PDQ because we are always hungry once we play and they have great food! Also, the football team sold gift cards in the fall and we usually use them when we go.

What are you most looking forward to this season?

I am looking forward to the National High School Show Case where we will be the hosting school and playing against the top 15 schools in the nation. Come support us on March 28th!
