Superintendent's Notes February 15, 2019

Shout out to our IT department for their important work, but lately for installation of some of the technology from the MINI TECH GRANTS! These guys are amazing!

Click this link and check out the latest virtual reality tour of the new 9th Grade Academy and CPHS lobby pending bond approval. We are still in the design phase so of course this could change somewhat. This is an exciting time for our school and our students! Please promote voting in the March 5 bond election! It's a great way for our community to support our students! Remember you can find detailed information on the SSPS website at www.sandites.org. Promote! Promote! Promote!

Pratt Kindergarteners are in the midst of a unit on Community Helpers. Big THANK YOU to our fire department for their willingness to share about how they are community helpers!

The School Calendar for the 2019-20 school will be on the March Board agenda for approval. I have been asked by a few people to see the draft calendar so wanted to provide that to you again.

Our CPHS Drama students are preparing another incredible production, SHREK, coming out soon. If you haven't seen a production by Ms. Andrea Campfield and team, I would highly recommend you go and witness firsthand our students' talent and hard work! Stay tuned for production times and dates!

I received an email recently from a community partner commenting about the helpfulness and punctuality of our folks in our Maintenance Department, specifically Derek Cope, our electrician. It's great to get the positive feedback! Also, I am thrilled to report the heating issues are slowly getting fixed at both Limestone and CBMS. I appreciate the folks at these two sites remaining patient through the process. Thanks Mike Bynum and team for taking care of us and our community!

This was just too good to pass up! Teachers and staff at ECEC are amazing and they provide evidence of the importance of having FUN in our work.
Look what Ms. Tiffany Golightly sent me in honor of Black History Month! What a great message from some great teachers at the Sixth Grade Center! Plus, that just plain took a whole lot of time and energy.
We realize we are in the stretch before Spring Break and Spring Testing Season, when staying the course is tough to do. I would just encourage you to persevere and stay solid in our work. Also, while Einstein did persevere, he was pretty darn smart!

Enjoy the three day weekend! ~ Sherry
