Global Games Industry Vs. UK Games Industry Successes, salaries, jobs and more

Globally in 2016 $99.6Bn was generated across the game industry, with 27%% coming from mobile games alone which equates to $34.9Bn. Pc and MMO games hold 27% of this income while consoles generate 29% . It is expected that in 2019 the revenue will have increased by 6.6% to $118.6Bn.

The Games industry is growing substantially and developers across the world and the UK are expanding from making small indie games up to AAA titles like Call of Duty or Battlefield. Revemue from the games industry comes from a variety of sources, these being: PC and MMO games, Console games, Mobile games, Accessories, Console transactions, PC transactions, Events, Soundstracks, Toys and Books.

The games industry in the UK is more prevalent now than ever with billions of pounds coming from the consumer in the form of buying consoles, PCs, hard copy games, accessories and softwares. £3.94Bn came from the game inspired industry in 2013 alone and since then the game industry has expanded beyond expectation

When the industry of the UK is compared to places around the globe it is clear that the UK is large but not the largest industrial estate. China takes that position, closely followed by the US, with thousands of developers across the country. In China in 2015 the revenue generated by the games industry was $24.4Bn and in America it was $23.5Bn - Newzoo.
