Women of Calvary (WOC)
Tuesday March 10th | 10am
Calling all Women of Calvary to join us for study and fellowship on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 10:30-12:30. If you have children bring them. We are examining the women of the Bible. How are we similar or different than the women used to further His kingdom? In March we will be looking at Sarah and Hannah. Both women desired to have children and petitioned God to grant them the privilege. How do we handle the waiting while God is at work in our lives? Consider joining us on Tuesday 3/10 at 10:30am at the church. For the month of April we will be examining the lives of Leah and Rachel. Stay tuned for more on these sisters.

Philippians | 8:30am Sunday
Our planned study of the Minor Prophets has taken a new direction into Paul’s letter to the Philippian church. (You can read how that unusual rerouting came about in the blog of our discussion.)
Obadiah is about the consequences of the lack of brotherliness among God’s people. Philippians provides a significant contrast.
Paul, in his letter to the Philippians, intentionally subverts the social values of the dominant culture in the Roman colony at Philippi in order to create a radically different relational environment among the Philippian Christians. – Joseph H. Hellerman, Embracing Shared Ministry
Join us for the next several Sundays to see how our merged church might grow into that “radically different relational environment.”
Child care is provided.

Seven Chosen to Serve
6 Now in these days when the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint by the Hellenists[a] arose against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution. 2 And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said, “It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables. 3 Therefore, brothers,[b] pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty. 4 But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” 5 And what they said pleased the whole gathering, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch. 6 These they set before the apostles, and they prayed and laid their hands on them. 7 And the word of God continued to increase, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.
