Plantation Owner From Virginia Will Hanus

I think Reconstruction was a failure. I was a plantation owner from Virginia and I had 200 slaves. My slaves represented thousands of dollars of my investments. I am uncertain of where my future will lead me. Once the 13th,14th, and 15th amendment were passed I lost all of my slaves and I had to be voting with them too. Then Lincoln offered his 10% plan that forced us to say an oath to abide by the Emancipation Proclamation. This was just unfair because we would have to swear on an oath to regain representation. Luckily Lincoln was assasinated and the leader who abolished slavery isn't alive to enforce his laws. the military occupation of the south enforced the laws even after Lincoln was assassinated. Luckily the KKK and black codes were strong enough to let us have maybe a chance at having our rights back but eventually they were vetoed.
