Reading
This week we started a new unit that will take us on an adventure through the Revolutionary War. This week we read a poem, A Nation's Strength, and identified characteristics that we needed to build a new country. We also read, Colonial Voices, and read the viewpoints of several different people during that era. We read opinions of Loyalists, Patriots, Native Americans, and slaves leading up to the Boston Tea Party.
Math
This week we have been doing our Midyear Assessment and reviewing a lot of the concepts we learned the first half of the year. We have focused on multi digit multiplication, division, geometry, and fractions. We will be starting Unit 5 next week which primarily focuses on fractions.
Social Studies
This week the students journeyed over to the Northeast. We are learning about the states, major cities, and climate of this region. By learning about the geography and climate of this region, helps us as we talk about these locations in Reading and the Revolutionary War.
