Things in our class have been hectic since Christmas Break. We have had four snow days, one holiday, a day off for the kids for parent/teacher conferences, and our annual culture day, which was focused on Hawaii this year. With all of the snow, we are wishing we were in Hawaii right now! Consequently, we have only had one full week of school since the third week in December.
Can we please go and stay there until May?
We are working on perfecting the students' abilities to solve long division problems, and that has been difficult with missing so many days. We are also currently reading the novel "Because of Mr. Terupt" in all three of the 4th grade classes. This is a wonderful book that engages the students and helps them to learn about and practice empathy for others.
