Steve Jobs

While researching for Text as Art assignment, I tried to be more creative by focusing on personalities, instead of using animals or objects. My main purpose was to provide the character’s appearance features by using letters and forms. In the process of choosing the most likely persona for this task, I looked up on Donald Trump (as a popular), Charlie Chaplin (as a historical), and on Steve Jobs (as a progressive). I picked Steve Jobs as a symbol of design simplicity and minimalistic views. After I choose the character, the main problem was to harmonically connect the image and font. Base on the silhouette and its form, I choose Sans Serif type of fonts, which is called Kohinoor Bangla. Composing the letters became really interesting and creative process. Text as Art assignment helped me to learn how to provide harmony by playing with letter's forms, sizes, and positions. Also, it gave me more experience of working with Adobe Illustrator. I learned how to compose and manipulate the letters to it become the whole.
