Donald Trump defunding abortions

Does president trump not realize the type of conflicts this can bring? If he makes abortion illegal, it'll increase the rate of teen pregnancy, does he not put that into consideration? Donald Trump defunding abortions would increase the teen pregnancy rate that is already high, the u.s does not need anymore young single mothers out here. We need to put a stop to teen pregnancy and planned parenthood has helped doing that as the article “ U.S Teen Pregnancy Rate Reaches Historic Low: Planned Parenthood Calls For Continued Access to Contraception and Education” states, ” from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics shows a 40 percent drop in the U.S. teen pregnancy rate from 1990 to 2008, the lowest recorded level since 1976. Pregnancy rates for women in their early 20s declined to the lowest level in more than three decades.” this quote explains how much planned parenthood has helped out with the world's problem of the teen pregnancy rate being so high, thanks to planned parenthood and its advantages they have helped that rate decrease.

Is Donald Trump going to help the people in poverty needing the health services if he defunds planned parenthood? People in poverty need planned parenthood because of the low income they have. Planned parenthood provides affordable and even free services. Trump doesn’t even have a plan on what he's going to do with that case yet. He needs to start thinking on how it's going to affect those people who actually truly need their services. People who have voted for trump now regret doing it because of his choice on defunding planned parenthood the article “ I voted for Trump, not against planned parenthood: column” states, “ It doesn’t make any sense for Trump, who said he would defend the American people from politics as usual, to sign a bill like this. Millions of mostly low-income people who rely on Planned Parenthood for essential health care — such as birth control, cancer screenings, STI testing and treatment, well-woman exams and more — would no longer have access within their communities. And people who already face outsized barriers to getting care, especially people of color and people in rural communities, would face additional hurdles. A bill to defund Planned Parenthood doesn’t cross out a line in the federal budget — it stops people with Medicaid from being able to go to Planned Parenthood for basic reproductive health care”. This quote from the article demonstrates how people are in need of planned parenthood's services and how Trump defunding it will affect a lot of people.

Donald Trump has changed his mind multiple times on abortions, for example, he used to not be so passionate abortions being legal until his story on how his friends were going to abort a baby and the baby end up being a “superstar” which made him change his perspective on abortions.. That statement does not demonstrate how this will benefit the world in any way. According to Planned, it states that Donald Trump believes that the baby does not have fault in people's mistakes on having unprotected sex. But he also states that he acknowledges the benefits planned parenthood does have, which is how they help women with breast cancer and have a beneficial price ranges for the people in poverty that need certain health services. After seeing this statement it makes me wonder why he wants to defund the whole business, when he acknowledges that it benefits people in a lot of different ways? I believe that Donald Trump is being really unreasonable with this situation and I believe that there should be some type of limit when it comes to him impacting a lot of people with his decisions.

Donald Trump wants to ban abortions for all women no matter what the circumstances are. For example What if a woman was raped? Would she have to keep the baby of a man she did not want to have sexual intorcourse with in the first place? Donald Trump does not look at that side of his decision. Being raped is not just something a women can get over or out of their head. It is a case where it is really traumatizing. For example as the article “ I had no conception of the enormity of what had been taken from me” states, “ The knife changed everything. It signalled a swift and complete surrender of any power I had left. The sickening realisation that I was about to be raped, that I might be subjected to hateful, perverted acts of violence, that I might be cut up inside and killed, is not a feeling I can recreate in words. Total powerlessness is incredibly frightening. In that moment I knew real and absolute fear. They tried to rape me in the back of the car, then dragged me into a ditch by both arms and legs, and taking turns, sexually assaulted me, forced me to perform oral sex and raped me, all at knifepoint.” reading about this girl's experience makes me think, what if this women would have been left pregnant after these men raped her? She would have been left with a bigger trauma than she already has, and if Donald trump bans abortions, when horrifying things like this happen, a women is just going to mentally traumatize herself having to be living with the baby inside of her for nine months. Which could lead to further conflicts such as a woman performing illegal abortions or even them killing themselves because of the experience they are going through. In conclusion, I believe that Donald Trump should have certain laws that include when it is reasonable for a woman to get an abortion and when it's not reasonable for a women to get an abortion.
