Curanderismo Traditional Medicine in the Southwest and Mexico Class

Two weeks of history, traditions, rituals, herbs, and remedies of Curanderismo, a folk healing tradition of the Southwestern United States, Latin America and Mexico, and other countries.

The University of New Mexico campus in Albuquerque.

Last year the class celebrated its 16th year!

This unique class is taught by Dr. Eliseo "Cheo" Torres from Albuquerque, and several local and reknowned Mexican healers.

Rita Navarrete from Mexico, and Antoinette "Tonita" Gonzales from Albuquerque and both curanderas, lead several classes and afternoon workshops.

Cultures are united.

Traditions are shared.

Communities come together.

Wisdom is appreciated.

Heros are honored.

Customs are defined.

Bonds are formed.

Friendships are made.

Lives are changed.
