Five Santa Teresa High School science students qualified to compete at the SW Regional Science Fair which was held March 4, 2017 at NMSU; Krysta Gonzales, Lily Loya, Erick Martinez, Brianna Medrano, and Clarissa Molina. Krysta Gonzales and Brianna Medrano received a 1st place award, qualifying them to compete at the 65th NM Science and Engineering Fair at NM Tech March 31. Brianna also received a special award by the Association for Women Geoscientists. Erick and Lily earned a 2nd place and also qualified for state competition. Lily was also recognized by the Arizona State University Wigley Global Institute. More than 300 middle and high school students from throughout the state will compete for cash prizes and scholarships.
