Art Elective (My Owner and Me) By: Tsion Tucho

My whole year in tech and art class was focused on a computer fair competition project. My partner and I had to make a dog company and share our ideas with the judges in hope that our idea would catch their attention and become champs. Through the process of making our project, I have learned to take advantage of the maker space and I have learned how to use some of the equipment such as the laser cutter, and use adobe slate in order to create the logo. I had some knowledge on how to use Lucid press from previous projects in other classes and that helped me to accomplish in creating the flyers and brochures. I also have learned how to print our logo on a shirt, it was very simple. As an artist, I have learned that a paintbrush is not the only equipment that can be used to make an art but all sort of equipment is used in order to achieve a piece.

This is the presentation board we used, we wanted something different from other competitors so instead of a simple trifold.
This is our logo printed to our shirt.
This is our key chain or it can be attached to a dog collar.
This is one of the advertisement we used to get our business out there. This is a flyer of our business.
This is one of the advertisement we used to get our buisness out there. This is the brochure for our dog business.

Throughout art class, I entered into a computer fair project and our theme was a pet business. I am very proud of my partner and I accomplishment even if we ended up 4th place. The images are located above, this took time and patience and outside of class effort and we are happy with the result. We will come back and hopefully we can become 1st place. I have entered the same competition last year with the same result but the result hasn’t led me to give up but it made me more competitive and have faith. I am more proud of of my partner and I not giving up.

Throughout the year, I have expanded my learning field and applying art in any system. I have been working on a computer fair project and it has expanded my creativity as an artist. I consider art to come in every form whether it is making a business to creating physical artifacts which also incorporates art medias. I have also learned to have patience and determination to have success in what you are making. I also learned to be proud of your piece even if it didn't come out as you planned or not successful.
I have learned to be patience and never give up through your hard times. Art takes time and also determination in order for it to be successful. Art comes in every form, it helps a person express themselves whether it's painting to making music. In art class, I had to create a pet business and that involved a lot of creativity and also art media in order to create a physical artifact. This has taught me that even if I am not becoming an artist in the future, I will be using art in some way and art applies to anything.
I have my weakest moments and I need growth in those areas, I have a difficult time in doing an assignment or project in a last minute. I have always struggled with this but throughout my highschool years I have learned to take advantage of my time and do my best in my work.
For my next art, I would love to make an art that represents my culture. This image above is an Ethiopian flag and this inspires me in what ever I am working with because this flag represents who I am and what my purpose in life is. My inspiration and ideas come from looking back at who I am as a person.
Thank you for reading my art stories and my growth as an artist!
