Still Waters House is brand new ministry from BCBC working in partnership with other local churches and organisations.
We've been working hard throughout 2019 to prepare a property as a home for four men who have previously been experiencing homelessness or living in insecure accommodation. Aside from work on the physical property we have been building a fantastic team of volunteers who will ensure that Still Waters House is the very best it can be. We are deeply grateful to the Steering Group who have given so much time and effort to ensuring we have excellent structures and policies to work to.
Working with a number of organisations around the city residents will be identified through a robust referral process. Through individually tailored programmes our residents will be supported in every way possible to one day obtain and successfully retain their own secure home. We will of course always act with integrity, and the care and support we will offer will always be with 'no strings attached'; however, at every step, in everything we do, we will aim to demonstrate Christian love and compassion. We do what we do in the name of Jesus.
Our superb property has been provided by 'Green Pastures' who have also been supporting us in establishing the structures and procedures. We have received enormous support from 'Thrive Together' who have appointed a worker to guide and enable the Steering Group. Further substantial support has been provided through 'The Outcome Unit' who have helped us focus on ensuring our volunteers are appropriately recruited and thoroughly supported and appreciated. St Johns & St Peters Church, Ladywood are working in partnership with us to deliver the project, as well as individuals from a number of other local Churches. This truly is a Kingdom of God initiative.
We will be opening our front door to residents in the very near future, so watch out for more exciting news about Still Waters House.
