Time to Learn 2nd Grade


CCSS 1.MD.3 Tell and write time in hours and half-hours using analog and digital clocks.


  1. Students will be able to tell time by the hour on digital and analog clocks.
  2. Students will be able to tell time by the half hour on digital and analog clocks.
  3. Students will be able to write down the time.
  4. Students will be able to draw in the proper hands of the clock to tell a specific time.

Follow the steps to help you learn all about digital and analog clocks and telling time. Please raise your hand if you have any questions, or quietly ask a neighbor.


Step 1: Watch this YouTube video about the difference between the two types of clocks.

Step 2: Watch this video and do the actions along with the leader.

Step 3: Pass the 1st and 2nd level of this game on the analog AND the digital clock.

Step 4: Print off this worksheet and complete it. Turn it into the turn in box.

Step 5: Follow the link to the GoogleForm quiz. Make sure to hit "submit" at the bottom your quiz.

This is the rubric students will be graded on. This is a lot of on your own work, and students will be trusted to complete their work to the best of their ability.
