Joel Kentjanaputra is a Toronto based artist who was raised in Bali, Indonesia. Currently taking art and design foundation at George Brown College as a fresh start of his art career. Expressing his creativity through both traditional and digital art. He hopes to make positive impacts through his artwork.

Joel's digital artwork is very classic and aesthetically pleasing. Some of his artwork especially his collage design will make you think of the true meaning behind it. It's very elaborate and complex but once you understand the message easily understandable.

Hands on drawing is his favorite methods among any others. As it grant him the opportunity of having full control over the flow and intensity of his artwork. The only methods where he could feel most confidence and comfort.

Below Is a design process for one of his piece called "intoxicated" 16x20, media: drawing pen on hot press board.

Intoxicated is a self-portrait painting that's expressing the negativity of the world which affects human including Joel himself. Face surrounded by smoke which represents how unavoidable these matters to our life. While objects below it are the source of the affection. Terror, pollution, racism, sexism, gossip, bad decision, those are some of the things in life that we couldn't escape from.

Joel's chromatic artwork is likely to involve color contrast and gradation of color. As he always tries to get the attention of the viewer towards his artwork by enhancing the intensity of colors and gradation of color that creates eye flow when viewer take a closer look.
