Bronco Bulletin September 27, 2019

On Thursday, the U.S. Department of Education announced that Boulan Park Middle School was one of only 362 schools nationwide to receive the National Blue Ribbon designation for 2019. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps. A select number of schools are invited to apply every year by top education officials in each state. This year, only thirteen Michigan schools were recognized and Boulan Park was the only middle school in the state of Michigan recognized in 2019. This is a honorable distinction for our students, faculty, families and community. Bravo Broncos!

Thank you for supporting the Book Fair!

Mrs. Chatel would like to thank everyone who made a purchase from our Follett Book Fair last week! We would like to give a special thank you to Mrs. McGahey and Mrs. Creger for spending their week at Boulan running the book fair for Mrs. Chatel—our success is due to their hard work and we couldn't have done it without you! We now have $2,000 to spend on books and materials for the Boulan Media Center.

We still have many items in our lost and found already! Please write your last name on water bottles, lunch boxes, sweatshirts and notebooks and we will make sure that they get returned to their owners. Without names it's difficult to get these items home.

The Troy Schools Food Service Department, which is contracted by Chartwells, is seeking friendly people willing to fill various vacancies within the Food Service Department that are responsible for providing lunches to the students of the Troy School District. Not to worry if you haven’t had previous experience, as “on the job” training will be available!

Depending on the school, the hours would primarily be during the middle of the day, but will vary depending on the vacancy. And you would be earning some extra money while your students are in school! Come join our Food Service Staff by calling 248-823-5089, or please email us at ngervais@troy.k12.mi.us.

I look forward to hearing from you!
