ME is one of the broadest branches of engineering. It can lead into careers with product design, robotics, manufacturing, and many more.
A degree in CS can be very versatile, you can use your skills to do web development, app development, or game development (most types of development). With society's heavy use of technology, there will be steady supply of jobs in the future. Also, a Computer Science degree allows for an independent lifestyle, which is appealing.
While rather specific and a combination of the previous two majors, Robotics expanding very quickly. Oregon State has a specific program for Robotics which combines its ME and CS courses.
I understand the challenges that are in front of me, the engineering field is highly competitive. But its also very rewarding, I love hands on projects that require ingenuity. By continuing my academic excellence and completing all the necessary applications to the best of my abilities I feel I have a great chance of being accepted into any, if not all, of the previously mentioned universities.
