Myshikita's Questions A different type of dialogue...

Myshikita's Questions

  • I love you, Jesus, what more can I say?
  • Can the leaf give its thanks to the tree?
  • It is born as a bud at the dawn of the day.
  • It opens in splendor at three,
  • then shows its true glory at evening's array,
  • while leaving forever its home.
  • But the tree does not suffer for the loss of the leaf.
  • Undaunted, the tree will live on.
  • Perhaps the leaf's true worth is shown in its death, as it returns to the soil.
  • Perhaps it's the end of the cycle that's best.
  • Perhaps for the tree the leaf toils.
  • I love you, Jesus, what more can I say?
  • Can the earth give the sun back its rays?
  • A pebble embraced in a halo of light,
  • a dirtball that's hung on a wave.
  • The earth cannot choose its own course of flight;
  • Because of the sun, earth's arrested from the night.
  • Has the sun gained in splendor for earth's meager stay?
  • Has its brilliance increased?
  • Has the earth light repaid?
  • Perhaps the Sun's shinning on earth's rounded crust
  • Gave birth to a must greater form.
  • Perhaps as the last creature goes back to dust,
  • And the heavens at last roll away,
  • Perhaps, millions and trillions of stars will result
  • And for each star its own ball of clay.

His Answer

  • Oh, Myshikita:
  • Perhaps, to the seed that is you, I'm the flower.
  • Perhaps you're the bricks. I'm the house.
  • If you can believe,
  • I'm the breath that you breathe,
  • and the blood as it flows through your veins.
  • I am every good thought that your mind ever thought.
  • I'm the same one who picked out your name.
  • I took pleasure in you when you did not exist,
  • And I loved you when you came to life.
  • When you spoke to your heart and you welcomed me in,
  • your spirit I claimed for my wife.
  • I am first, I am last. I am all that there is.
  • Any other is just a mirage.
  • If you can think of yourself as being separate from me,
  • You have strayed in your mind and are lost,
  • And you don't understand the work that I did
  • When I died for you up on that cross.
  • One day you will know me Just as I know you
  • And know longer will you search for me.
  • On that day the saying will be fully realized.
  • "Death swallowed up in victory."

Mysikita's Response

  • I love you, Jesus, what more can I say?
  • I will say that you are the most high.
  • I will praise your name from sun up to sunset,
  • and I will gladly give you this life.
