London sights

London is the capital of Great Britain. It is also the capital of England and the United Kingdom. The population of London is about 10,000,000 people. There are a lot of beautiful things to see and visit there. Here are some of them.

The Houses of Parliament are the centre of the British government. The famous Clock Tower with even more famous bell called Big Ben is part of them.

Trafalgar Square is the main square. There are two fountains there and Admiral Nelson’s column. At the bottom of of the column stand four lions.
Hyde Park is the most famous park in London. It’s well known for its Speakers Corner where at weekends anyone can speak about anything.
Tower Bridge is the most famous bridge in London. It opens for the big ships to pass.
The Tower of London has a very interesting past. It was a royal palace and a prison. Today it’s a museum.
St Paul’s Cathedral is the biggest church in London. It was designed by Sir Christopher Wren.
London Eye is an observation wheel 135 meters tall.Over 3.75 million people visit it every year.
The British Museum is also very popular with tourists.It is famous for its collection of works of art from ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome.
