Feb. 21, 2019 isn't just any other day...
Thursday, February 21st is #NationalYouthDay: a day to celebrate YOU and YOUR contributions to the critical problems our country faces. We are Generation No Kid Hungry, and we’ve teamed up with the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation to challenge you to share your #NationalYouthDay story.
- Do you volunteer?
- Have you created your own projects that give back to the community?
- Did you start your own nonprofit or social enterprise?
- Are you creating impact on issues like food security, the environment, energy, etc.?
We want to hear about it!
On February 21st, post your National Youth Day story by sharing photos and videos showing your impact in action, tagging @GenerationNKH and using the hashtag #NationalYouthDay on Instagram, Twitter AND Facebook. Your story can be something you've already done OR something you're dreaming of one day doing - it's whatever you make of it!
Here's the great news: not only is Feb. 21 an entire national day to celebrate YOU, but there are tons of ways you can get involved in this day and all the days leading up to it! We're kicking the festivities off on Feb. 1 with #21DaysofGratitude - scroll down for more info! *cue suspenseful music*

Mark your calendar to share your story on February 21st, and spread the word to your friends and family by sharing our Save the Date!
Reflect on how you have been involved in your community and commit to sharing your experiences with your own #NationalYouthDay photo, video, or Facebook/Instagram Live to highlight your work for causes involving:
- Childhood hunger
- Food insecurity
- Homelessness
- Environment
- Civic engagement
- Animals
- Health
- And so many others!

Instagram Challenge
Starting February 1st, join in on the #21DaysofGratitude Instagram Challenge!
The rules are simple:
- Post at least one photo a day on Instagram, thanking a teacher, parent, mentor, peer, organization, etc. for times they've helped you, inspired you and/or for their work in the community.
- Use the hashtags #21DaysofGratitude and #NationalYouthDay in your caption.
- Tag @GenerationNKH so we can see your post and be able to like and comment on it.
Twitter Chat
Join the #NationalYouthDay Twitter Chat on Feb. 21 from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. ET to discuss the role young leaders play in addressing the critical issues our country faces.
YOU are an expert here! This is a great way to share your story and highlight any resources or opportunities for other young people to make a difference in their communities!
