Don't become a teacher if....

  • you have trouble controlling your emotions
  • if you are not self motivated
  • you don't have a sense of humor
  • if you don't like children
  • if you are not organized
  • if you don't like talking in front of groups
  • if you need to have your work recognized and praised frequently
  • i f you have bad people skills
  • if you don't really love teaching
  • if you have trouble getting up early

How to become a teacher?

  • you need a 4 year bachelor's degree in education
  • Community College is a great place to start
  • St. Rose, SUNY Albany, Siena
  • you will need to do an internship at a school - towards the end of your bachelor's degree
  • eventually you will need a master's degree
