Winds SEBASTIAN WOLFGRAM

Global winds : are the winds shown on a global map of a national or part of the world, this can be found on a global scale. It tracks winds across a large size of land.

Global convection currents: an uneven heating of the earths surface causes a current from the poles to the equator. This creates storms moving north. This can be found in the upper atmosphere were clouds form.
The Coriolis effect: is most apparent in the path of an object moving longitudinally. Things coming from the north move right and from the south move left. This is found in the northern hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere.
The global wind pattern: is known as the general circulation and the surface winds of each hemisphere are made into into three wind belts. This is found in the upper atmosphere.
Doldrums: a cell created when low air and hot air mix and it creates high clouds and furious winds. This is found near the polar areas and the equator.
Horse latitudes: a belt a calm air and waters. This is found were there are trade winds.
Trade winds: winds traveling to the equator from the north or south. This is usually found at the equator.
prevailing winds: it comes from the west toward the east in the middle latitudes between 30 and 60 degrees latitude. This creates a high pressure.
Polar easterlies: are the dry, cold prevailing winds that blow from the high pressure areas of the polar highs at the North and South Poles towards low-pressure areas within the Westerlies at high latitudes.
Jet stream: a fast flowing air about 10 km from the earths surface.
