There is a season of ~CHANGE~ coming saith the Lord! I am hearing this strongly through prayer, daily devotions and by God bringing me confirmation from others who are my mentors and prayer warriors. I am not sure what that will look like, but we know God is in control of ALL things!! ONLY God knows what is to come! I am trusting Him in and through it all.
A recent message from a very dear Pastor who is my trusted friend, prayer warrior and mentor. He writes...
Lately, something has caught my attention in regard to God's call and purpose for our lives.
a. Joshua could have never become the leader of Israel unless something changed. Moses had to die. Then Joshua heard from God. (Joshua 1.1-9)
b. Elijah would have stayed by the Brook Cherith unless something changed. The ravens quit feeding him, and the brook dried up. Then Elijah heard from God. (1 Kings 17.1-9)
c. Naomi and Ruth would have stayed in Moab unless something changed. They both became widows and decided to return to the land of Judah. Then Ruth met Boaz, and God used Ruth to become the grandmother of King David. (Ruth 1.1-7)
I am seeing God in ways I have never seen before! Our God is faithful!!! He is continuing to do CRAZY and AMAZING things!!
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:19
God is LOVE!! To God be the glory!! And so are "YOU" to me!! THANK YOU so much for your continued sincere, steadfast, loyal and faithful love, prayers, support and encouragement!
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." I Corinthians 13:13
Homeschool is thriving and GROWING!!
We have added a new class with 2 new students! Lessie and Mathias will now be joining us on Friday's for Etiquette class. Just more than words can say...all wrapped in a bundle of LOVE, BLESSINGS, JOY, LAUGHTER, KINDNESS and FUN. A gift from God to me each and everyday!
The boys wanted a school mascot. They chose to be the "Makassar Cardinals." They are very proud of their banner! Thank you Greg who is one of my support ministry partners for helping with the graphic banner design.
Language school is coming along...still slowly, but coming! I am going into Unit 4 now. Yay!! Your steadfast prayers are much appreciated. I am "BELIEVING!!"
There has been much change in the language center that took place Feb 1st. They have all new tutors and staff. The tutors and staff that were there ALL resigned and left. Yes!!!! I have all new tutors now...Woo Hoo talk about a challenge. Everyone has a different way of teaching. Hahaha I will be well versed in the different teaching techniques for Bahasa Indonesian language.
I am still very connected to my previous tutors who are like family to me. They have actually already opened a new company with the new name Alekawa language and culture center. My positive way of looking at this change is God putting more people in my life to share HIS Good News with and enlarging my tent with my Indo family. I continue to take the opportunity to make language class a time of Praise and Worship.
“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities." Isaiah 54:2-3
My new Indo family is GROWING!

Sharing the Good News
There is an opportunity to go out into the city each week on Wednesday mornings to share the good news.
On this particular morning me and two other ladies chose to go to the Traditional market to share.
I was given the opportunity to share with these precious souls.
Do you all remember my story in my September 2016 newsletter about Fiah? God is doing amazing things!! Fiah has been a huge blessing to me in many ways here. She is truly like family. God has placed a bond between us that will be memorable for a lifetime. Fiah has set her wedding date for April 19th, 2017 only a few weeks away. She will marry Tikam whom I have had the pleasure of meeting recently and getting to know. It is beyond words how much it means to me to have been given the opportunity to attend Fiah and Tikam's wedding!!! Please go back and read my September newsletter to help you walk with me in this experience as much as possible. My heart overflows with much love and joy for my precious friend. PLEASE... pray with me now and join with me in agreement for Fiah and Tikam's precious souls. I can't bear the thought of her not being with me in Heaven one day. Let us pray...Lord, we come to you believing, speaking, asking and trusting for Fiah and Tikam to come to know you as their Lord and Savior. Woo them to you Lord! We agree your word is true "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." in Jesus' name Amen!! Matthew 18:19-20
Life in the village
WOW how time flies...
My girls are soon to be gone. ~CHANGE~ They leave May 11th to go back to the states. The students (Crystal, Libby, Jake and Micah) are experiencing their last few weeks living life in the village. If you have ever heard of village life in a foreign country...WELL...it is a very different life and often comes with many struggles. It comes with no familiarity to us. I speak only from experience!! But it does give us great respect for the village folks and helps to put things in perspective. May I ask you to please pray for the students as they walk out the end of their journey here and also, as they get ready to embark on a new way of life when they return to their homeland. I have heard as foreign as it feels to come live in a foreign land it also can be as foreign to return back to what use to be your normal. Prayerfully the students will take back their new way of life in Christ from serving Him.
The students prayer request in their own words is... please pray for our team as we embark on our journey. Pray that as we lift the name of The One Who Saves, He would draw all peoples to Himself. Libby asks that you would pray that God will use her and stretch her in a different area, Crystal asks for prayer that she would have more opportunities to share and that she would speak without fear, Micah asks for prayer that he would stay focused on his task in the village, and Jake asks that God would deliver him from ensnaring thoughts of inadequacy and despondency. That he would live as a man of Our Savior, wholly dependent on Him.
"For I know the plans I have for you, "declares the Lord," plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
