Body and Object Anders Duckworth

This workshop aims to create a playful space in which we will be able to explore ways of approaching movement making that focuses on our bodies in relation to body and object and on generating meaning through this relationship. My practice as both dancer and choreographer has been much influenced by my work with Maresa Von Stockert, the artistic director of Tilted Productions. My workshops will build on an understanding of contact improvisation, including experimentation through puppetry, towards an articulate understanding of our own bodies in relation to others.

A British/Swedish, choreographer, dancer and visual artist based in London, Anders Duckworth is interested in themes of identity and borders. Anders graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in 2014 and then joined Tilted Productions, working on Maresa Von Stockert's piece Belonging(s) which continues to tour nationally and internationally. Anders has also worked with choreographers including Jose Agudo, Wayne Parsons, Fionn Cox-Davies, Daniel Persson and Lea Anderson

Anders choreographed Polystyrene Dreams (dir. Jack Exton), which won the RATMA International Film Festival Best Art Film 2012 and directed Colourplay (2015). Recent work includes Projected (2015), which uses analogue projection of old film stock during live performance, Absent Impressions (2015), a collaboration with a composer and a film artist to explore our brief relationship with celluloid, and Binary (2017) a collaboration with Jamie Forth a digital sound artist.
