A phenomena Folds, faults and WEATHERING

Three agents: (folding, faulting and weathering) are responsible for the building, breaking, levelling and appearance of earth.

MOLTEN LAVA.
MAGMA.
WAVES ACTION.
PEAKS FORMATION.
FALL EFFECT.
ROCKS FOLDING.
MOUNTAINOUS RANGE.
SEDIMENTATION.
FREEZING AND FROSTING.
THAWING AND POND-AGE.

PLATE TECTONICS

Our planet earth comprises of several smaller and larger plates that move, push and slip over each other due to the tremendous forces generated by molten rocks in the form of magma. And when they move they generate an earthquake and consequent aftershocks. The only difference between a magma and a lava is; magma is the molten rock inside the earth crust and lava is the molten rock overflowed out the earth's crust.

LAVA! Hotter than the hottest.

FOLDS

When two piece of lands come closer to each other; their boundaries exert pressure over each other and starts to grow up vertically and thus reach great heights to form mountains.

ROCKS FOLDED BY IMMENSE COMPRESSIVE FORCES EXERTED BY TWO OPPOSITELY MOVING PLATES.

FORMATION OF A HIMALAYAN MOUNTAINOUS RANGE ALONG THE EDGE OF TWO STRIKING PLATES.

FAULTS

A FAULT IS A CLEAVAGE OR FRACTURE ALONG THE EARTH SURFACE WHERE ROCKS MOVE PAST EACH OTHER.

MOST FAMOUS "THE SAN ANDREAS FAULT"

WEATHERING

The process which involves the breaking down of rocks, their transportation and their depositions by weathering agents (wind, rivers, rains and ice).

WHEN WATER COMES DOWN FROM HEIGHTS IT BREAKS UP THE MOUNTAINS.
WATER FLOWS AWAY ALL THE SEDIMENTS BROKEN DOWN FROM ROCKS.
WIND ERODES AWAY THE EXPOSED LAYERS OF ROCKS AND DEPOSITS THE ERODED AGGREGATES ELSEWHERE.
FREEZING AND THAWING.
CLEAVAGE OF ROCKS.
EXFOLIATION OF ROCKS SURFACE.

LAST WORDS.

As Civil engineers, architects and geologists are shaping this world's future; similarly folding, faulting and weathering are shaping this world's nature.

LOVE EARTH.
LOVE ME TOO. I AM NATURE'S PARTNER.
