Three agents: (folding, faulting and weathering) are responsible for the building, breaking, levelling and appearance of earth.
PLATE TECTONICS
Our planet earth comprises of several smaller and larger plates that move, push and slip over each other due to the tremendous forces generated by molten rocks in the form of magma. And when they move they generate an earthquake and consequent aftershocks. The only difference between a magma and a lava is; magma is the molten rock inside the earth crust and lava is the molten rock overflowed out the earth's crust.
FOLDS
When two piece of lands come closer to each other; their boundaries exert pressure over each other and starts to grow up vertically and thus reach great heights to form mountains.
FAULTS
A FAULT IS A CLEAVAGE OR FRACTURE ALONG THE EARTH SURFACE WHERE ROCKS MOVE PAST EACH OTHER.
WEATHERING
The process which involves the breaking down of rocks, their transportation and their depositions by weathering agents (wind, rivers, rains and ice).
