Speak Laurie halse anderson

It is my first morning of high school. I have seven new notebooks, a skirt I hate, and a stomach ache(Anderson 3).

Speak is a powerful novel about a girl named Melinda Sordino and her first year of high school after going through a rough experience.

I should probably tell someone, just tell someone. Get it over with. Let it out, blurt it out(Anderson 99).

Melinda is alone. All of her old friends hate her. She's afraid to talk to her parents. She has a hard time keeping her emotions bottled up inside of her. She believes the safest place for her is in her mind.

IT happened. There is no avoiding it, no forgetting. No running away, or flying, or burying, or hiding(Anderson 198).

Speak is an amazing book and it won the Golden Kite Award for Fiction. This is a great book for teens and I recommend that you read it. I really love this book. I am definitely going to buy my own copy.
