Borrelia the Bad Borrelia Burgdorferi

What are your superpowers?

I don't have a good “superpower” but I do have a bad one. My bad superpower is that I spread really fast. Which means I harm the human faster and I move so fast sometimes they can't treat me.

What are the effects of Lyme disease?

Typical symptoms- fever, headache, and skin rashThere are many effects that lead to the result of Lyme Disease. Some of the many effects are loss of concentration, joint pain, poor sleep, mood problems (anxiety, depression, etc.), muscle/ skeletal pain, muscle stiffness,

The most typical symptoms are fever, headache, and skin rash

Watch out for this type of bite. This is a tick bite. You must immediately take a pair of tweezers to pull out the tick slowly but not too slow. Don't go too fast or you may leave part of the tick in your body (legs).

Who is your bacterium's arch enemy? Borrelia Burgdorferi has many arch enemies including natural bug spray/repellent that you can apply to your body, or there are many antibiotics doctors prescribe for this disease. These antibiotics include…

Amoxicillin- moderate spectrum bacteriolytic antibiotic. Often used to treat bacterial infections, ear infections, and upper respiratory infections.

Cefotaxime- antibiotic active against Gram-negative organisms (lungs, throat, ears, and urinary tract infection)

Penicillin- produced naturally by certain blue molds, and now now usually prepared synthetically. It destroys the cell wall of bacteria

Erythromycin- It is similar in the effects to penicillin (treatment for skin infections, respiratory tract infections)

There are many other antibiotics that can be used to cure Borrelia Burgdorferi such as Ceftriaxone (Rocephin), Cefuroxime (Ceftin), Doxycycline (Doryx), Tetracycline, and many more.

Extra Notes:

Borrelia Burgdorferi (Lyme disease) is one of the fast growing and most difficult to treat disease in the world due to the many effects it leaves on people.

Loss of concentration (short term memory loss)

Joint pain

Poor sleep

Mood problems (anxiety, depression, etc.)

Muscle/ skeletal pain

Muscle stiffness

Typical symptoms- fever, headache, and skin rash

Where do you lurk best?

I, Tickilous the Tick, am attracted to weedy areas because that is the habitat of where mice, chipmunks, and other rodents live. I cannot survive in areas that are hot and dry because it dries out my body. I can be on the move in temperatures above 40. This information goes for the same as Borrelia Burgdorferi because I am what shelters Borrelia by letting it live on me.

How does your arch nemesis harm you?

My arch nemesis is very harmful to me. I get into other humans through ticks. If I can get onto a tick and the tick bites the human I can then enter the body. It almost works as a taxi ride. I am the rider, the taxi is the tick, and the human or animal is the final destination.

How do you help/hurt your local community?

I hurt my community by giving those living in it lymes disease (Lyme borreliosis). My symptoms are;

fever, chills, sweats, muscle aches, fatigue, nausea and joint pain. It feel very similar to the flu.

Who are your allies, the people/objects/bacteria that help your bacteria thrive?

One ally that helps me thrive is a tick. Ticks help me thrive because they get me into the human and transport me everywhere.
