Judgemeadow Community College Week 9

This week we had the theatre group AlterEgo in school to perform 'Going to Extremes' to our year 7 and 8 students. this is an excellent production looking at extremism and radicalisation.

For the next two week, Reveal Theatre Company are working with all our year 9 students. They are all participating in a workshop called 'Game On' which looks at the issues of extremism.

The “Game On” programme has been monitored and evaluated by the Home Office OSCT and is now noted and recommended as a “Best Practice” programme of work supporting the Prevent Programme.

A huge shoutout to 9SRI who did an awesome job in their Game On workshop and really impressed our visitors from Reveal Theatre!

A huge shout out to Engie Euste in 7SBE for winning our first Year 7 Being Judgemeadow role model award. All year 7 students who achieve 40+ merits, 100% attendance and no referrals over a 2 week time frame are entered in to win!

Another huge shout out to 7PRI and 7MCB for both achieving 100% attendance as a form group - an awesome job!

A reminder to all year 9 and 10 students to bring in their consent forms and money for the World Skills Show Live trip on 22nd November.

Madame Loxley would like to congratulate her year 11 French class for the excellent work and effort they put into their mock oral examinations - well done!

These are a selection of boards that were on display in the exhibition celebrating Year 9 DT work that was held at Judgemeadow on Wednesday 6th November.

The students worked in teams to develop an idea for a product that 'improves peoples life'. The design also had to be commercially viable with the possibility of it being made and sold in the London Design Museum shop.

One of the teams were the winners from Judgemeadow and their work will be put forward for selection by the Design Museum.

If successful in London, we may see their work being sold in the museum shop and raising money for a charity of their choice - good luck!

An example of an excellent piece of science knowledge organiser based homework by Lana Chowdhury 11RHO - well done!

A huge congratulations to Irfan Hasan 9RJO who spoke wonderfully about the ACE hub on Radio Leicester this week

Remembrance day displays prepared by Year 7 students on display in the LRC
