COUNCIL MEETINGS

Members of the public can participate in the teleconference Council meetings by following the instructions stated on the meeting agenda. Members of the public can listen to the meeting audio livestream online at HERE or on Youtube, ConnectwithTC. Requests to speak during “Public Comment” will be accepted by email to cityclerk@templecity.us before and during the meeting, prior to the close of public comment on an item. Efforts will be made to read written comments received before the end of the meeting. Comments that are not read into the record will be made part of the record. Lengthy public comment may be summarized in the interest of time.

YOUTH COMMITTEE

The city received 13 applications for the 2021 recruitment. Staff and City Council liaison will review the applications and invite applicants for interview.

PARKS AND RECREATION

SUMMER SPORTS CLINICS

Registration is now open for the Summer Sports Clinic. Develop skills on all levels as player and stay active during the summer. The Summer Sports Clinic will be coached by recreation staff and is designed to introduce players to a variety of sports. Players of all levels will improve their skills while learning the fundamentals of each sport. Coaches will encourage good sportsmanship in a non-competitive environment. There are two sessions to choose from in two age divisions. The Mini Division for youth ages 3.5-7 years and the Youth Division for ages 8-13 years. This program will operate from Monday through Thursday and all players are welcome.

SUMMER DAY CAMP

Summer Day Camp is back at Live Oak Park! Ready to have some fun in the warm summer sun? There are a few spaces left for the last sessions of the summer. This year's program will run from June 14 through August 19, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Registration is $85 for each 2-week session. Day Camp tee-shirts will be available for an additional $10 *Due to health and safety considerations, space will be very limited.

Kids will participate in a variety of fun and engaging activities including arts and crafts, games and sports. To help ensure the safest experience possible, campers will remain in small groups and most of the day will be spent outdoors. Campers will be required to wear masks, practice good hand hygiene and complete daily temperature checks.

TEMPLE CITY'S GOT TALENT

Grab some popcorn, sit back, relax and join us Friday, June 11 for the announcement of the winners of the Virtual Temple City's Got Talent show and competition! The Award Show for Temple City’s Got Talent will air next week on Friday, June 11 at 7:00 pm on Facebook, Youtube, and the City cable channel 3 (Charter subscribers). Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each of the three age categories will be announced along with the People’s Choice Award. For more information CLICK HERE

TEMPLE CITY PARK AMENITIES REOPENING

Additional outdoor park amenities will be reopening on June 15, 2021. The basketball courts at Live Oak Park, picnic shelters at all parks and the Performing Arts Pavilion at Temple City Park will open. All other outdoor park amenities are open for use by the public. For those interested in reserving a picnic shelter, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (626) 579-0461.

The Concerts in the Park series is returning to Temple City Park this summer! Starting July 21, 2021 and running for 7 weeks, the concert series will return to the Performing Arts Pavilion on Wednesday evenings. Please visit www.templecity.us/VRC for more information coming soon!
