Nursery Rhymes Helping Children Gain Early reading Skills

Nursery rhymes are a great way to help your child recognize words that rhyme, hear sounds and syllables in words, memorize passages, and have fun with language. Here are a few nursery rhymes with accompanying activities to get a start on learning them with your child.

Humpty DUmpty

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.

All the king's horses and all the king's men, couldn't put Humpty together again.

Baa, Baa, Black Sheep

Baa, baa black sheep. Have you any wool?

Hey, diddle, diddle,
