Australia's Red Centre A desert in bloom

Watarrka National Park

After rain, the desert blooms with Uluru as a backdrop.

Just after sunset.

About 40 kilometres from the Rock, and inside the same National Park with which Uluru shares its name, is Kata Tjuta. Formed during the same geological event, this is a not a single rock but an interesting combination of domes that emerge from the desert,

For a year from April 2016, the desert "flowers" at night thanks to Bruce Munro's art installation of over 50,000 stems... The "Field of Light".

But on a moonless night, nature puts on her own light show.
